IMPERIAL RUSSIAN MEDAL WITH A PAPER DESCRIPTION OF THE AWARD "FOR BRAVERY 3 DEGREE" TEMPORARY GOVERNMENT The Kerensky Provisional Government, which came to power in Russia after the February Revolution of 1917, did not abolish existing insignia, awards, etc., but introduced several new types of medals, which will be discussed below. To the "royal" rewards were treated calmly, however: - The images of the crowns and any other "monarchic" elements from the newly manufactured awards and distinctive signs were removed. - The awards for the length of service for the period of fighting were abolished. - The royal portraits on the existing medals, on their own initiative, were flipped forward, or simply cut down.
